Two worlds, Eflara and Ostala, are connected (or, if viewed from another side, disconnected) by the Time Rift. They are linked by a living bridge that pulses, the heart of the planet — the mysterious Purple Flower. The enchanting flower blooms once every thousand years and grants one wish — the will expressed by seven keyholders. In Ostala, in the ordinary non-magical world, people use clocks only to tell time and are unaware of time magic, although the laws of the epher still apply there alongside others. In contrast to the Ostalans, the Eflarians preferred not technical progress, but time magic.
Almost thirteen-year-old Vasilina, a delicate red-haired girl with bright blue cornflower eyes, practices gymnastics, has a good friend Lyoshka, lives with her guardian and her cats, and doesn't even suspect that her life will change irrevocably after a sudden meeting with her father and moving into his house.
